YAC’s Trip To The New Museum Was An Inspiring Day To Me. We Went To See The Exhibition Based Upon The History Of All LGBTQ+ And Why It Is Of Great Significance To Understand The Long Way Time Has Changed To Healed Most Wounds. The Exhibition Was Called “Hirstory” To Portray The Image Of The Modification In The Way People Are Viewed In Their Own Skin And To Portray An Image Of Gender Neutrality. Going To This Exhibition Created By Chris E Vargas Allowed Us Youth To Come To The Realization That Nowadays, The Old “Weird” Is The New “Normal”. It Is A Regulation To Make People Comfortable In The Skin They Choose To Wear And The Sexual Orientation They Choose To Abide By And Identify As. Fighting For Equality Is Never Easy, But Going To This Exhibition Has Made Me Realize, It Is Always Worth It. Our Amendments Can Be Summarized As To Us Being Able To Enjoy Who We Are As People And Be Free/True To Ourselves As Long As It’s Done In A Respectful And Legal Manner, But Overtime, Our Ancestors And Elders Have Fought For That Concept To Go Out To All Genders And Sexes, Not Just Races And Religions. This Was A Very Significant Visit For Myself Because Although One May Not Identify As An LGBTQ+, I’ve Learned That Anyone Can Join In And Be A Helping Hand To A Person Fighting To Feel Understood Or Acknowledged In The Appropriate Manner That They Want To Be Approached With.
